Not all pool chlorine tablets are created equal. Leslie's chlorine tablets have the highest available chlorine for killing algae, bacteria, germs, and other microorganisms. For more than 50 years in the United States, we've produced and controlled our proprietary formula which is highly compressed into our chlorine tabs for a concentrated, slow-dissolving sanitizer for convenient use in above ground and in-ground pools.
Stabilized Chlorine
Our 3" tablets consist of stabilized chlorine, meaning they are protected from sunlight to last longer. This ensures the chlorine continues to do its job in the water rather than breaking down when exposed to sunlight.
Kills Algae and Bacteria
For clean and clear water with less effort, each tab contains the highest amount of available chlorine. This provides consistent sanitization by killing algae, harmful bacteria, and eliminates swimmer contaminants such as body oils, suntan oils, sweat and lotions.
Long-Lasting Tabs
We continue to control the entire manufacturing process of our proprietary formula which is densely compressed into our chlorine pucks for long lasting and slow dissolving chlorinating sanitizer. You get a longer-lasting product that provides 24-hour chlorine residual when used as directed.
Non-Blended, No Fillers
Ideal for chlorine floaters and automatic chemical feeders, our slow dissolving tabs are for daily pool water sanitization and have absolutely no fillers like many others. These additives cause tabs to dissolve too rapidly and don't provide a consistent distribution of chlorine. These fluctuating chlorine levels and inconsistent sanitization lead to quicker algae growth. Fillers and other additives also can increase the total dissolved solids in your water, which can ultimately make the chemicals you use to maintain and treat your water less effective over time.

How many chlorine tablets should I use in my pool? One 3 inch chlorine tablet is generally used for every 5,000 gallons of pool water and needs to be replaced every 5 to 7 days. For example, a 20,000 gallon pool would need four 3 inch tablets per week. Please note that factors such as water temperature, water chemistry, pool usage, and weather can all influence how much is needed.
How long does a 3” chlorine tablet last? 3 inch chlorine tablets usually dissolve in 5 to 7 days. This duration can vary based on water temperature, water circulation, and where the tablet is placed in your pool. Faster dissolving may occur with warmer pool water and increased circulation.
Can I put 3 inch chlorine tabs directly in my pool? It’s not recommended to place chlorine tablets directly in the water, as they can stain or damage pool surfaces and equipment. We recommend using a chlorine floater or automatic chemical feeder for controlled and even distribution.
Does pool chlorine affect pH levels? Yes, stabilized chlorine tablets can gradually lower pH levels over time because of their acidic nature. To maintain proper water balance, regular water testing is critical. For best results, chlorine performs at the highest level when the pH is maintained between 7.2 and 7.8 ppm (parts per million).
Are 3 inch chlorine tablets safe for all pool types? Yes, stabilized chlorine tablets are considered safe for concrete, vinyl and fiberglass pools. It's important to use chlorine tabs properly to avoid damaging liners or equipment.
What is the proper chlorine level for a swimming pool? The recommended range for a good chlorine level is between 1.0 to 3.0 parts per million.
